とか（N4）

 

Meaning: among other things; such as; so on, like, whether

 

How to use			examples	Translation
Verb dictionary	+	とか	やるとかやらないとかは後(あと)から決めて(きめて)下さい(ください)。	You can decide whether you will do it or not and so on later.
Noun			私(わたし)はおすしとかラーメンとか日本(にほん)料理(りょうり)が好き(すき)です。	I love Japanese food, like sushi, ramen, etc.
Adjective			アパートは汚い(きたない)とか寒い(さむい)とか文句(もんく)ばかり言って(いって)いた。	He kept complaining, saying things like that apartment was dirty or too cold and so on.

Translate the following using　とか

 

1.      I would love to eat sweet things such as ice cream or cake.

2.      You should work out every day, even just 5 to 10 minutes is OK.

 

Answer

1.      アイスクリームとかケーキとかが食べたい(たべたい)。  

2.      毎日(まいにち)、5分(ふん)とか、10分(ぷん)とかでもいいので、運動(うんどう)をしたほうがいいですよ。
