Counter suffix, Times of Day, Duration, Age, Items

The " number words" is the counter suffix used to describe what item is. 

As I said last time, not only “number words" will change depending on the person, the type and shape of the object, and the type of animal. 

But also, even in the same category items, the" number words" pronunciation is different depends on numbers.

 I understand how difficult to memorize all the below because most of students who I teach feel the same thing, so it may be better and faster to memorize aloud.  

You will see the below many number words.

Notes:

The Japanese month has a number and the end is "~がつ".

The counter suffix "～にち" is used to indicate date, but the 1st to 10th and 20th are irregular.

Notes:

1.      The pronunciation of numbers 1,6,8, and 10 changes before the counters、こ、さつ、ひき、and ,ほん、except ろくさつ. 

2.      The initial sound of the counters ひき、and ほん、changes to ぴき and ぽん　after numbers 1,6,8 and 10,and ぼん,after number 3 and なん、respectively. 

3.      For small items,"~つ" or "~こ" can be used. Please note that "Number words" can’t be used after 11.

Japan’s official currency is the yen, which is pronounced en in Japanese.

The number of times and the number of floors of the building have the same pronunciation. Only when writing in Kanji, there is a difference like 回数and 階数.
