 ほうが　いいMeaning: It’d better to do/ it is better not to do 

How to use		examples	Translation
Affirmative It’d better to do	Past Short form + ほうがいい	いったほうがいい	You had better go.
Negative it is better not to do	Present negative Short form +ほうがいい	いかないほうがいい	You shouldn’t go.
